“7th Heaven” star Jessica Biel certainly has
more than her share of hot-blooded male admirers, but who knew she
also had such a fan base in little girls? The stunning starlet was
mobbed at Andrew Saffir’s The Cinema Society premiere of her new
flick The Illusionist by a swarm of young Southampton girls, who
begged for autographs while the gracious Biel posed for pictures
with all of them. Following the screening, the pint-sized groupies
waited outside the theater for another glimpse of their favorite
star. Biel’s co-star Edward Norton was also on hand
at the Wall Street Journal sponsored premiere. After the opening
Norton and Biel joined Kathy and Rick
Hilton, Nacho Figueras, Howard
Stern and Debbie Harry at the after party
at Pink Elephant.

Author Richard Armstrong, a frequent visitor to
Southampton, has just completed the screenplay for his latest book,
God Doesn’t Shoot Craps. The book recently hit number three on
Amazon’s bestseller list of comic fiction. Although the author says
repeatedly that the leading character of Danny Pellegrino looks like
Dennis Farina, many readers think John
Travolta would be a better choice. Sean Connery has been
mentioned as a likely prospect for the role of Virgil Kirk. Other
casting choices are Judd Hirsch, Danny DeVito, Andy
Garcia and Marisa Tomei.

Chuck and Ellen Scarborough
were not the only ones to receive media attention at The
Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons’ Chow Chow Bow
Wow benefit at their home in Southampton on Saturday. Their
adopted Labrador Oliver, along with fellow rescued pets —
Frances Hayward’s Shepherd mix, Amigo, and
Lisa and Brian McCarthy’s Chow,
Katrina —also got some attention. Plum TV host
Alison Chace caught the social canines as they were
served their plates of high-end cuisine by Christopher
Wolfe of Robbins Wolfe. The many guests included Hampton
regulars Bentley Meeker, Jackie Rogers, Anait Bian, Ralph
Destino Jr. and Dr. Peter Theodorou.
During the sit-down dinner, Oliver took to the stage and “sang”
along as Mr. Scarborough played his harmonica. No doubt the “duet”
helped to raise more than $250,000 for the no-kill shelter.
